Raffin 40th
Anniversary Concert Video
This unusual video documents a concert presented by the Raffin
family
at their local church to commemorate the 40th year jubilee. In addition
to the maestro himself, many family members, including grandchildren,
play
10 organs in various combinations. You'll see familiar models as well
as
his giant 68-note prototype and the double accordion player. All of the
music is classical or religious suitable for this magnificent setting
and
all narration is in German. This is not the normal “happy music” organ
video and is recommended only for those interested in serious music.
The
original European video was converted to U.S. format and the quality
of this version is only "fair" to "poor" but
is the best available after several attempts and is priced accordingly.
The packaging is different than the original version box shown. Running
time is over 1 1/2 hours. $9.95 postpaid.

Organ
Festival
Video
A 2 hour video tape documenting a small organ
festival I attended in Dillenburg, Germany in July 1994. It includes
approximately
6 antique barrel organs and 15 recently built organs of different
types.
It is not intended to help you select a Raffin model although several
different
Raffin organs are shown. It also includes a short segment taken at the
Raffin factory showing music roll production and several minutes of Mr.
Raffin playing two different organs. The tape is well documented with
five
pages of written explanation. It is specifically intended for those
interested
in small hand cranked organs, and to my knowledge nothing like it has
ever
been produced. Money refunded if not satisfied. VHS format only. $20
postpaid.

Raffin Factory Video
VHS Video From the Raffin Factory.
Semi-professional
video includes a short tour of the facilities as well as a very
detailed
step by step process of an organ being built from start to finish
(including
pipe building, voicing, tuning and organ regulation). If you've ever
considered
building an organ or arranging your own music, you will get some good
ideas
from this tape. It also shows demonstrations of all the organ models
(except
the “mini”). This video is really well done and shows more of the
production
than I have been able to observe in six visits to the factory. It
is
narrated in German, but this is not really a problem. The original
tape I received required conversion to the U.S. video standard, so it
lacks
some quality, but comes with a money back guarantee. Running time 1 1/2
hours. $20 postpaid. Now available
in DVD. $10 postpaid

Raffin
45th Anniversary Compact Disk
Contains a variety of music played on
different
large and small organs including two tunes on the new "Concert Street
Organ." In addition to the usual "happy" tunes there is
some "serious" music showing the true capabilities of the "Concert"
series
organ. You'll wonder how so much music can come from these small hand
turned
instruments. This disk is very similar to the 40th Anniversary CD that
received rave reviews and recommendations from my customers.
Price: $16.50
postpaid.

Raffin's Christmas CD
A collection of Christmas tunes. Don't expect Frosty of Rudolph.
Almost all the tunes are religous music and many are unfamilier to most
Americans. There are some you will recognize including Little Drummr
Boy, Jungle Bells, White Christmas, and probably others. It's ideal
background music for the Christmas season.
